Coming off their bye week, the Wisconsin Badgers are getting another tough test, facing the No. 20 Michigan Wolverines on the road in the Big House.
Wisconsin is on a two-game losing streak, getting blown out by the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Maryland Terrapins. The big question all season has been the health of quarterback Billy Edwards, who is out against Michigan on Sunday.
Edwards attempted to return against Maryland, but clearly wasn’t 100 percent and re-aggravated his knee injury after one
drive. Danny O’Neil played in relief, but struggled in the loss.
That is leading to a surprising change on Saturday, as third-string quarterback Hunter Simmons will get the start, with the Badgers trying to create a spark offensively.
He’ll be playing behind a new center, as Davis Heinzen has moved to the interior to replace an injured Jake Renfro. Heinzen started the year at left tackle.
In addition to Renfro and Edwards, the Badgers will be without safety Preston Zachman once again.
