As the Miami Hurricanes continue the journey of the 2025 season, our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook have released odds for the College Football Playoff quarterfinal game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Now that we’ve moved to the CFP, Miami isn’t overwhelmingly more talented than their opposition. Both Miami and Ohio State have rosters littered with blue chip talent, and the Buckeyes are one of few teams with more blue chip talent than the Canes. But so was Texas A&M. This should be a fast, physical game showcasing both collections of elite talent.
To me, the line is fine. Both teams are among the most talented and accomplished in the country, and are competing for a National Championship. The talent is there. The narratives are there (oh BOY the narratives are there). The extrinsic motivation (A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP) is there. And that sets the stage for a potentially epic game on New Year’s Eve night.
Miami has wanted an opportunity to show their mettle against the top teams in the country and compete for a national championship, and after winning against A&M, they have that chance. They face off against an Ohio State team that has designs on repeating as National Champions, and features several South Florida natives on their roster. If you wanted a chance to go up against the best in the sport, this is it.
