Penn State hockey commit Egor Shilov was drafted 43rd overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft:
Shilov quickly flew up the NHL Draft radar after an outstanding 2025-26 season with the Victoriaville Tigers of the QMJHL. He had 82 points (32 goals, 50 assists) in the regular season, good for 7th in the QMJHL among all skaters. Shilov was one of the top center prospects in this
year’s draft and committed to Penn State last month, flipping from Boston University to the Nittany Lions. It is still unclear when he will join Penn State, but his future is bright.
The Avalanche are still in the middle of their Stanley Cup window with Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. Former Penn State winger Matt DiMarsico signed a two-year entry level contract with the Avalanche in March.
Congratulations Egor and good luck!
