Jeremy Fowler is dropping all kinds of news items on the Tennessee Titans this morning. First, he said that Aaron Whitecotton will be interviewing for the defensive coordinator position. Now, he is reporting that the Titans have talked to Arthur Smith about the offensive coordinator position.
Art is an interesting candidate.
He was great as the offensive coordinator for the Titans. He was so good, in fact, that he got hired to be the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Things did not go well for him there, and he was fired after going 21-30 in three seasons. He spent last season as the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Smith’s offenses have not been good since he left here. In Atlanta, he didn’t have a quarterback, but his use of the stars he had on that offense was mind-boggling at times. Was he just great here because he had Derrick Henry and the best version of Ryan Tannehill possible?
That’s the question he’s going to have to answer with any team he interviews with over the next few weeks.
Would you be happy with Arthur Smith returning as the Titans’ offensive coordinator.
