New Las Vegas Raiders veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins is currently expected to begin the season as the starter while the team grooms rookie, No. 1 overall draft Fernando Mendoza.
If, Cousins, who turns 38 next month, indeed, does start, the Raiders and their fans can rest assured that he brings some veteran consistency. Maybe even a surprising amount of it.
A recent X post by Kalshi Football looked at the all-time NFL quarterback with the most seasons of a 95 or higher passer rating. Cousins, who
entered the league in 2012, is tied for the seventh most on the list with seven seasons of having a passer rating of 95 or higher. As you can see on the below X post, there are some all-time great quarterbacks on the list.
Cousins last had a quarterback rating of more than 95 was in 2023 while with Minnesota. Spanning 2019-21 when new Raiders’ coach Klint Kubiak was either Cousins’ quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator, Cousins had quarterbacks rating of, at least, 103.1 in all three seasons.
So, there’s no reason to expect more of the same this season for the Silver and Black.
