Raphinha has offered an update on his fitness and says he still does not know if he will be fit to play in Thursday’s Copa del Rey semi-final for Barcelona against Atletico.
The Brazilian was initially ruled out for a week with an overload, meaning he missed the two wins over Albacete in the Copa del Rey and Real Mallorca in La Liga.
Yet it seems there’s no guarantee he will be ready to start on Thursday night. He was asked about the situation by reporters on Monday evening and gave the following response.
“I’m better, but not one hundred percent. We go day by day,” he told Sport. “There are options to arrive on Thursday but I don’t know yet. If I’m fine, I’ll play but we’re going to wait.”
Hansi Flick would love to have Raphinha available but won’t want to take any risks in case of a relapse. The Barca boss has already revealed how unhappy he is at seeing his key man sidelined with injury yet again this season.
