The Pittsburgh Steelers had a small handful of players leave the penultimate preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nick Herbig left with a hamstring injury, but was held out more as a precaution than anything. Mike Tomlin noted afterward that the star edge rusher was fine. However, long snapper Christian Kuntz left with a chest injury and will reportedly be out for quite a while.
Per Mark Kaboly of The Pat McAfee Show, Kuntz suffered a broken sternum, which will keep him out “several weeks
to months.”
“Steelers LS Christian Kuntz’ injury is his sternum,” Kaboly posted on X. “It is believed to be broken, according to a source. That would keep him out for several weeks to months.”
The Steelers worked out a handful of long snappers on Sunday, as they seem to be preparing for life without Kuntz for the foreseeable future. Logan Lee was the emergency long snapper for the remainder of the game vs. Tampa Bay.
