Much of the talk this week has surrounded Ohio State’s visitor list for Saturday’s game against Penn State, but the Buckeyes are also finding time to offer new names.
Thursday saw the latest prospect share the good news, as Ohio State’s newest offer was dished out to Deven Robertson
. The Mississippi native is the prototypical three-technique defensive lineman the Buckeyes covet to anchor their defensive front.Standing at 6-foot-3, 320 pounds, Robertson’s frame is already college ready, but just a class
of 2027 product, he still has another full year of prep football to grow and develop his game even further. The No. 407 player nationally and 45th best at his position per the 247Sports Composite, Robertson holds over 20 offers to his name, and now adds Ohio State to a list that includes Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC, and a host of others.
A three-star per his profile, looking solely at the offer list you can tell the caliber of player he is. Larry Johnson has the Buckeyes now firmly interested. From here, while he’s a name worth monitoring, the real tell will be if he’s able to get on campus in the near future.
Five-star WR keeps Ohio State in the mix
Surprise surprise, it’s another day where Ohio State is in the mix for a five-star wide receiver target.
A feat that is expected thanks to Brian Hartline’s abilities both in development and recruiting, the Buckeyes are the top school in the country when it comes to the position and the top players at that spot know that to be the case.
Thursday providing more good news for the Buckeyes, as Tennessee native Kesean Bowman narrowed his sights down to a final 10, and Ohio State of course made the cut.
A 6-foot-1, 175 pound athlete, Bowman is a five-star product and the rankings tells all you need to know. The No. 29 player nationally and fifth best receiver per the 247Sports Composite in the 2027 class. 40-plus schools on his offer list, narrowing it down to ten is a major development and a sign that he could be on his way to cutting things even further as he gets closer to a decision.
Making the list, Ohio State was joined by Alabama, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and Vanderbilt. More times than not, the Buckeyes do get the guys they want at the position and if they go all in on Bowman you’d have to like their chances simply based on previous history.
Once again, Ohio State sits in a good spot and has plenty of top options to choose from at a position they develop better than anyone else.
