The Braves starting the season may be a bit of a surprise to some. However, names such as Bryce Elder and Mauricio Dubon being major reasons why will likely surprise many. But those were the two starts of the Braves 4-0 over the Athletics on Monday.
Elder and Dubon are helping Braves see production to levels they have not experienced in a while. Dubon’s 3 hits and 3 Rbis on Monday are the first time in more than two years a Braves shortstop has had that level of success in a game. Atlanta now has produced
2 shutouts in its first four games of the season, only the fourth time it has had multiple shutouts through five games in a season in franchise history. If success from unexpected sources wants is helping the Braves win, they will gladly accept it for as long as possible.
