Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we are talking about Mizzou Basketball!
Tuesday afternoon, Mizzou basketball released its 2025-26 basketball schedule with times and TV broadcast assignments.
There’s plenty to digest with the schedule, but the Rock M team has done a great job diving into non conference matchups and all of them are out except the Illinois matchup, which should be coming out soon. These are all really solid deep dives, you should check them out.
Non-Conference Preview: Howard Bison
Non-Conference Preview: Southeast Missouri State Redhawks
Non-Conference Preview: VMI Keydets
Non-Conference Preview: Minnesota Golden Gophers
Non-Conference Preview: Prairie View Panthers
Non-Conference Preview: South Dakota Coyotes
Non-Conference Preview: South Carolina State Bulldogs
Non-Conference Preview: Cleveland State Vikings
Non-Conference Preview: Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Non-Conference Preview: kansas jayhawks
Non-Conference Preview: Alabama State Hornets
Non-Conference Preview: Bethune-Cookman Wildcats
There are a lot of question marks coming into the season, but also a lot of positive things to build on from last season. Mark Mitchell and Anthony Robinson should be enough to keep the Tigers competitive through the SEC, but they’ll need help from some other guys to step up if they want to make a splash.
We have more discussion on football and basketball, diving into prospects, visits and PFF grades in the Rock M+ forums. Most recently, there’s discussion on the bye week.

The game-time has been set for Mizzou Football’s first road game of the season. Missouri at Auburn on October 18th will be under the lights at Jordan Hare Stadium. The SEC has announced that it will be either 6:00 or 6:45 p.m. CST on ESPN or the SEC Network.
An under the lights game time for Mizzou’s first road game is exciting. I think people are underplaying this game with major upset potential, especially if Mizzou beats Alabama.
Imani, or “Mani” as her USA Gymnastics bio reads, is ranked no. 5 in the Class of 2026, per College Gym News’ recruiting rankings. Our girl has a BUNCH of scores in the Level 10 Top 100. The Texas native, who currently trains in the Sunshine State with the aforementioned Brandy Johnson’s Gymnastics (2024 DP National Club of the Year), is currently tied for no. 1 nationally on Vault with a perfect 10 (earned on Feb 14), and her 9.95 is tied for no. 18. She also is tied for a no. 11 ranking on Bars with a 9.90, and her 9.875 is no. 25. Her Beam score of 9.85 is tied for no. 17. Her all-around scores of 39.325 and 39.300 rank no. 3 and no. 6, respectively.
Serious talent headed to Columbia next season. Shannon Welker is COOKING! Exciting to see that making a National Championship appearance is paying off for the Tigers in form of recruitment. Even for a program that continues to be dominant in the gymnastics recruiting world, Mizzou fans should be stoked about this commitment.
The best prospect coming in is Doctor Bradley, a high scoring combo forward who landed at Arkansas-Pine Bluff last season and scored 19.6 ppg over 18 games. Bradley might be best known for running into some trouble at New Mexico State in the sexual misconduct case that emerged a few years ago. Bradley ended up taking a plea deal to testify against two teammates, and the whole thing is pretty ugly. But there are always second chances if you can get buckets, I guess.
Interesting story for Bethune-Cookman’s top transfer prospect. They finished 3rd in the SWAC so definitely not a bad team. The Tigers should take care of business, but always fun to find story lines in these non conference games.
I really like the way Bush recovers. He’s got high energy levels and chases plays to their end, not giving up when he catches himself on the outside of the action. It’s hard to tell if his tackling technique is as good as it could be (logic tells me it could be better because of his age), but he hits hard enough to throw runners off their balance.
Energy is the name of the game when it comes to Mizzou’s defense. He’ll fit right in.
“Cayden Green will be listed as questionable this week. He did get some rehab reps yesterday. The challenge will be to see where he is today and see how that progresses. Won’t know for sure or for certain until the end of the week. So follow along closely to the SEC availability report and Pete Thamel tweets and you’ll know.”
– Mizzou HC Eli Drinkwitz
Unfortunate that he’s not back and at 100% but it would be good to see him get a few reps against Alabama. I’m fairly confident that Jayven Richardson should hold up just fine against Alabama’s defense.
Over at Rock M+ we have more Mizzou football discussion in forums ahead of Bama, and basketball discussion ahead of the season.
