Harry Kane has conquered just about every challenge football has thrown at him, so perhaps it is time for the Bayern Munich striker to try something completely different — the NFL.
Former Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny believes Kane could actually make the transition from football to American football, although he has a very specific career path in mind.
According to Posluszny. a Pennsylvania schoolboy legend, Kane could potentially handle punting or kickoffs thanks
to his powerful leg.
“I think if Harry Kane has that powerful leg, he can dedicate some time to kickoffs. Field goals and extra points will be the challenging ones. Now you get him out there as the punter or leading the kickoff team, that’s all about strength, power, and putting the ball where it needs to go, which is all things that he is completely accustomed to. So, he would be able to make the transition,” Posluszny told iPredicta.
Imagine Kane spending Sunday afternoons at the Allianz Arena scoring goals and then somehow turning up in Buffalo on Monday wearing a helmet.
There would probably be a learning curve. NFL punters have spent years perfecting a completely different technique, and Kane might have a few questions about why everyone keeps trying to tackle him.
Still, there is something hilarious about the idea of Kane being told that after years of mastering the beautiful game, his next challenge is to stand around waiting for someone to yell “PUNT!”
And knowing Kane, he would probably find a way to score anyway.
