The Albuquerque Isotopes finished their 2026 campaign on Sunday with a 14-7 loss to the Salt Lake Bees (LA Angels). But three Isotopes hit home runs in the one-touchdown loss: Sterlin Thompson (No. 16 PuRP), Charlie Condon (No. 2 PuRP), and Ryan Ritter.

Thompson’s was a two-run shot in the first inning to put the ‘Topes up 2-0. Condon hit his own in the third inning, a three-run shot to put them up 5-0. And then Ritter hit a solo shot in the ninth to end the game on a high note despite the loss.

Thompson

went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, two runs scored and two strikeouts.

Condon went 1-for-4 with a homer, four RBI, one run scored, a walk and two strikeouts.

Ritter went 2-for-4 with a home run, one RBI, three runs scored and a strikeout.

Triple-A: Salt Lake City Bees 14, Albuquerque Isotopes 7

The Isotopes got out to a hot start against the Salt Lake Bees, but 10 runs in the fourth and fifth innings ended up doing them in as they lost 14-7 in their season finale.

Sterlin Thompson got things going in the first by hitting a two-run homer after Ryan Ritter was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. But then three of the next four batters struck out (Edouard Julien walked). The ‘Topes added to their lead in the third when Ritter singled to lead things off and Thompson walked behind him. That set the stage for Charlie Condon to hit his 27th homer of the year and rack the lead up to 5-0.

But then things started to fall apart in the fourth.

Nelson Rada singled to start off the inning and then stole second. Yolmer Sánchez walked, but then Ben Gobbel struck out on a foul tip. But then Cade Marlowe smashed a three-run homer to cut the lead to 5-3. There was some more traffic after that, but luckily Andrew Baker and Parker Mushinski were able to get out of the jam with minimal damage.

The fifth inning avalanched, though, and ultimately sank the Topes.

Rada led off with a walk and then Sánchez singled. Gobbel flied out and the runners advanced, and then Marlowe hit a ground-rule double to score both of them and tie the game. Raudi Rodriguez singled to take the lead and then Omar Martinez singled two batter later to give the Bees s’ocat. Niko Kavadas grounded out, but then Zach Humphreys singled to score Arol Vera.

Keegan Thompson came into relieve Mason Green, and he immediately walked Rada and gave up a single to Sánchez. Gobbel struck out swinging to end the inning, but the Bees scored seven runs in the inning to double the score 10-5.

The Topes went 1-2-3 in the fifth and sixth, and then Nic Kent led off the seventh with a walk. They had some more traffic before Condon was able to draw a bases-loaded walk. They went 1-2-3 in the eighth, and then Ritter tried to jump start things with a two-out homer in the ninth.

Thompson singled, but Condon struck out on a foul tip to end the game and the Isotopes season.
