New England Patriots left tackle Will Campbell left Sunday’s game with a right knee injury. He is questionable to return.
The injury occurred on a second quarter run play where Rhamondre Stevenson was brought down on Campbell’s right leg. He stayed on the turf acquiring medical attention before visiting the blue medical tent and quickly departing to the locker room.
Last season, Campbell suffered a MCL sprain to the same right knee that landed him on injured reserve. He returned for the playoffs but
struggled as he was not fully healthy.
With Campbell in the locker room on Sunday, rookie Caleb Lomu filled in at left tackle. The Patriots traded up to select Lomu 28th overall in the draft this past April. Through four weeks, Lomu had played just 50 offensive snaps as the third offensive tackle and jumbo tight end.
