Quincy Craig was on the field for less than half of Arizona’s offensive plays on Saturday, spending most of that time serving as a blocker on run or pass plays. But on the few occasions he got the ball
in his hands he made the most of it.
The junior had two touchdowns on just five touches in the Wildcats’ 24-20 win over Kansas, including the game-winning score on a 24-yard run with 39 seconds left. That was enough to earn Craig Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week recognition.
Craig had three carries for 47 yards, two coming on the game-winning drive, and added two receptions for 13 yards including a TD that was the 67th of Noah Fifita’s career, tying him for the school record. For the season Craig, a transfer from Portland State, has 394 all-purpose yards and three TDs.
He is the third different UA player to get Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week recognition. Fellow running back Ismail Mahdi did in September while Fifita has been honored twice, including last week.
