Welp, they’re actually making us do this again! The Hawkeyes are moving forward with playing the rest of the season and being the schmucks we are, we’re going to tune in, aren’t we?!?
Of course we are! We’re stuck with this lot in life and we’re going to keep tuning in despite knowing how things will play out forever and ever.
In this one, we have the Hawkeyes coming off a 16-13 loss to Iowa State in the Cy-Hawk series and still sitting under 200 yards passing ON THE SEASON. If there ever was a get
right game, this is it as Iowa plays host to an 0-2 UMass team that is ranked near the bottom of the nation in virtually every power ranking out there.
The Minutemen finished their 2024 season at 2-10 and are now without a slew of key players as they come to Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes are massive home favorites and anything short of a Hayden Fry-esque butt kicking will leave an incredibly sour taste in the mouths of the faithful.
But will Kirk Ferentz allow Tim Lester to really open it up and try to get the passing game into a rhythm? If he does, is Mark Gronowski actually up to the task? And even then, does Iowa have the horses on the outside to ever truly have a downfield passing game?
We may never know, but we can always hope to get something resembling answers as the Hawkeyes host the Minutemen in Kinnick.
