The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Tackle Jaylon Moore, wide receiver Rashee Rice, cornerback Jadon Canady, fullback Ben VanSumeren and defensive end Jack Pyburn will not dress. Rookie Garrett Nussmeir has been designated as the third quarterback and is eligible to enter the game should starter Patrick Mahomes and backup Justin Fields become unavailable.
Moore (concussion) and Rice (hamstring) had already been ruled out on Friday’s final injury report. Not listed are tackle Josh Simmons (back) and running back Brashard Smith (hamstring) who were placed the team’s Reserve/Injured list this week and will be sidelined for at least the next four weeks.
With Moore and Simmons unavailable, rookie tackle Diego Pounds will suit up for his first NFL contest. Kansas City acquired Pounds — who played the last two seasons at Ole Miss — via trade from the Baltimore Ravens on August 30. Pounds signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent this spring. Veteran Joshua Ezeudu is expected to start at right tackle in place of Moore.
Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) was listed as questionable on Friday. We also learned on Saturday that, due to a personal reason, Sneed would not travel to Seattle with the team but planned to meet them for the game. Sneed is active for the contest.
Tight end Jared Wiley is active for the first time this season. Wiley had been a healthy scratch in Kansas City’s first five games. The Chiefs have all four rostered tight ends available for Sunday night.
On Saturday, Kansas City elevated practice squad wide receiver Justin Watson to the active roster. As an elevated player, he will automatically be returned to the team’s practice squad after the game. It will be Watson’s second of three permitted elevations.
The Seahawks have also released their list of inactives.
Notably, running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) — who split time with now Chiefs star Kenneth Walker in recent seasons — will not suit up. Charbonnet had already been ruled out on Friday as he continues working his way back from an ACL injury suffered in the postseason. The Seahawks had already ruled out linebackers Chazz Surratt (calf) and Beau Stephens (ankle). Linebacker Connor O’Toole (hamstring) is also inactive despite ending the week with a questionable tag.
Running back Robert Henry appears to be a healthy scratch. Guard Beau Stephens was limited in practice with a knee injury but had no injury status for the game. Stephens is also inactive for Sunday night.
Former Missouri Tiger Drew Lock has been named Seattle’s third quarterback for Sunday night. Lock was listed as questionable for the game with a right elbow injury.
The Seahawks have elevated veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs and linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo for the matchup. Both will dress for the game.
