The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are back home this weekend as they play host to the Boise State Broncos of the Mountain West Conference. This is the designated GREEN OUT or IRISH WEAR GREEN game (or whatever you want to call it) and as I said when the green thing was announced… it’s perfectly scheduled.
For years, Boise State has gained national acclaim for its winning ways and its David vs Goliath lore, but also because it plays its home games wearing all blue on an all blue playing surface. So… this
is a little bit of a payback situation for the rest of college football (in the mildest of ways).
Speaking of mild… it won’t be mild in terms of the weather. It’s been warm — if not just absolutely hot, for our area this past month. Saturday will be no different. 85 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Thankfully there will be no humidity to speak of.
