When Harry Kane won the Ballon d’Or, his first tweet after the victory was: “Work hard in silence, let success be your noise.” People assumed this was directed at fellow Ballon d’Or contenders Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, but Kane clarified that it wasn’t.
“No, not at all. This is a quote I’ve loved throughout my whole career, to be honest,” Kane said (as reported by Bulinews.com and captured by the X account @iMiaSanMia). “It amplifies me, what I do, and how I approach hard work, discipline, and dedication.
Many times, I have had to train on my own—behind the scenes, all the work that I do. I just think it’s a great quote and one that lots of boys and girls can look at and use to help them as well.”
As professional football players and athletes themselves, Yamal and Mbappé surely know the importance of working hard and continuously improving oneself. If anything, they could use that quote to kickstart their own Ballon d’Or charge.
