Ole Miss is set to take on Missouri in the first round of the SEC Baseball Tournament, which will hopefully launch the Rebels into a string of wins that boosts their chances to host a regional.
The Tigers are the worst team in the league (6-24 SEC record), and an Ole Miss loss would not be a real good time. In fact, it would also make the person who wrote this yesterday look dumb (more than usual!).
I mean, it would be gross if, say, Ole Miss gave up like 10 runs on 14 hits to a team with the second
fewest hits and runs over 30 SEC games. It would be even worse if Ole Miss struck out 14 times against a pitching staff that ranks 12th in the league in strikeouts.
And let’s not talk about a scenario where Ole Miss walks Missouri 7 times, despite the Tigers being dead last in walks drawn. That would all be very bad!
So let’s hope, whenever the game is, none of that comes to pass. If you know what time the game is, drop that information in a comment below, and we can live blog Ole Miss’ impending victory.
No matter what happens with Ole Miss’s inevitable SEC Tournament run, our attention will later turn to Monday’s NCAA Tournament selection show at 11 AM. That’s when the Rebels will find out who will come to Oxford for their regional, or, should they cough up a terrible loss to Missouri (UNLIKELY), where they’re heading as a two seed.
It’s an extended baseball season at Swayze Field!
(Surely)
(Most likely)
(Probably)
(I’m sure nothing will go wrong against Missouri)
(It would be wild if they spent less than 24 hours in Hoover)
