There was a Manchester City reunion after Bayern Munich’s frustrating night in Gelsenkirchen after the Bavarians and Schalke 04 fought to a 0-0 draw.
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany made a point of congratulating Schalke 04 Loris Karius on his outstanding performance against Bayern Munich, with the two having known each other from their time at Manchester City.
Karius was sensational for Schalke, making the big saves when Bayern Munich needed them most and helping his side secure a valuable
point in a 0-0 draw. And receiving congratulations from Kompany made the night even more special for the Schalke goalkeeper.
“It was wonderful to see him again and receive his congratulations. He’s a great person and a fantastic coach,” Karius told Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Football has a funny way of bringing old connections back together. From Manchester City to opposite ends of the pitch in the Bundesliga, Kompany and Karius shared a nice moment after Karius helped frustrate his former club’s old captain and Kompany’s Bayern Munich.
