Wow, it’s crazy that we had another bye week so soon. I mean there was definitely not a game last week, so another bye week must be what that was.
These Huskers are going to be refreshed and motivated when the Wildcats come to Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
#1 PROTECTING THE QUARTERBACK
It’s pretty hard for an offense to run effectively when the quarterback keeps getting sacked. Northwestern boasts a top 25 defense and it will be important that nobody misses a blocking assignment.
#2 TACKLING
The tackling for the Huskers has to be better than
what it was last week. First contact needs to make the tackle. I couldn’t believe how many Gophers were getting yards after contact.
That can’t happen against the Wildcats. They are the 6th rushing offense in the conference and will capitalize on weak tackling.
#3 BIG PLAYS
Both offense and defense are going to need some big plays this week. We need to see some Dylan Raiola to Nyziah Hunter magic, some Emmett Johnson big runs, and a defense that blows up that Wildcat offense.
The Huskers need to make their own luck and it starts with some big plays.
#4 TURNOVERS
The Blackshirts need to capitalize on any mistakes that the Wildcats make.
They are due for some more turnovers this week. A pick 6 or two would really be really beneficial.
#5 SPECIAL TEAMS
This is the week for Nebraska special teams to get back on track. They had been doing so well and we all know that a punt return for a touchdown has just been waiting to comeout.
This. Is. The. Week.
