Will The Bloodline reunion angle end any time soon? Let’s see what today’s rumors have to say about it!
Top rumor of the day: WWE’s WrestleMania plan for The Bloodline
Even though some wrestling fans are seeing signs that The Bloodline reunion will blow up soon, WrestleVotes Radio has heard that the current kayfabe story with the faction is expected to continue through WrestleMania 43 next year in Saudi Arabia. The eventual addition of Zilla Fatu may be part of that angle.
The biggest unknown variable in the equation is whether or not Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
will return to WWE for an angle or match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. The Rock’s rumored schedule for shooting the final Fast & Furious movie suggests the timing won’t work out for that to happen.
For whatever it’s worth, Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer indicates that reaching financial terms with the Final Boss for a WrestleMania match could also be an issue, because “there’s definitely people behind the scenes” who think “the never-ending money supply” the Saudi Arabian government has been willing to spend on major sports events “may not be never-ending anymore.”
The rest of the rumors!
- Sources told WrestleVotes that people in AEW expect the New Day will make their debut for the promotion this weekend at Wembley Stadium for All In. Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez believes the most likely way this will play out is for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to join up with Swerve Strickland as the wild card team in the AEW world trios championship gauntlet match that starts on the pre-show.
- Votes has a source in AEW who expects that Tony Khan will try to sign Ilja Dragunov very soon, if he hasn’t done so already. On the WWE side, Votes was told that Dragunov is not expected back there any time soon after he recently made the decision to leave.
- Alvarez was told that Kyle O’Reilly is injured and his eye is “an absolute mess.” Meltzer says there is “definitely fear of a broken orbital bone.”
- Per Fightful Select, WWE is impressed with Cathy Kelley’s work and wants to expand her role in the company so that she is doing more than just being a backstage correspondent. One idea under consideration is for Kelley to become a “focal point” of social media campaigns, including a major role with the “social aspects of Club WWE.”
- Even though AEW World Champion Kenny Omega was missing from this week’s go home episode of Dynamite in Glasgow, Alvarez heard that “he was there” backstage at the taping.
