No. 7 FSU softball will kick off play in the Dugout Club Classic today with a doubleheader vs. Dartmouth and No. 9 Alabama, starting at 3 p.m.:

Florida State women’s basketball fell to Cal on Thursday, losing 75-62:
Florida State was led by senior guard Sydney Bowles with 17 points, followed by Sole Williams who scored 13. Bowles finished the game 6-of-12 from the floor and was 4-of-7 from behind the arc.
In the first quarter, the Seminoles were 7-of-9 from the free throw line to start, but Bowles drained a buzzer-beater three-pointer to close out the quarter with the Noles leading 18-16.
Bowles stayed hot to start the second, sinking two more threes within 65 seconds. She led the Noles with eight points in the quarter. FSU continued to fight, registering five steals, but trailed by two at the half, 32-30.
The Seminoles finished the game forcing 15 turnovers, including eight steals.
Williams sank a three-pointer to start off the second half, beginning an eight-point scoring streak. Williams led the frame with 11 points as the Noles outscored Cal 23-18 in the third, taking a slight lead to the fourth, 53-50.
The Golden Bears found momentum in the fourth, taking the game 75-62.
Florida State will recognize its senior class in at the final regular season home game on Sunday, Feb. 22, hosting Stanford at 2 p.m. on the ACC Network (ACCN).

No.13/NR Florida State swimming and diving secured a silver medal, a fourth-place finish and saw three program records fall on day five of the 2026 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships:
Thursday’s slate featured the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle individual events.
Sophomore Logan Robinson highlighted the night with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle, breaking his own school record in the process. Freshman Ioana Stirbu continued her record-breaking week on the women’s side, while sophomore Michel Arkhangelsky placed fourth overall in the 100 butterfly. In the 400 IM, sophomore Mathias Christensen rewrote his own name in the record book once again.
Robinson touched first in the 200 freestyle prelims with an NCAA-qualifying 1:32.21. He returned in the championship final and improved his time to 1:31.18, resetting his own school record and claiming the silver medal.
Stirbu clocked a 1:45.98 in prelims on the women’s side of the 200 freestyle to earn a lane in the C final, where she lowered her own program record to 1:45.04. The swim surpassed the 1:45.06 she set just two days earlier on the opening leg of the 800 freestyle relay.
Arkhangelsky earned his place in the A final of the 100 butterfly with a 45.19 in prelims before recording a 44.79 in the final, an NCAA-qualifying time that resulted in a fourth-place finish.
Christensen advanced to the B final of the 400 IM with an NCAA cut of 3:44.98. In finals, he dropped more than a second at 3:43.69 to place 11th overall and reset his own school record.
Senior Sophie Freeman secured a spot in the C final of the 100 butterfly after posting a 52.89 in prelims. She improved to 52.40 in finals, a personal best and the seventh-fastest performance in Florida State history.
Senior Sam Bork moved on to the B final of the 100 butterfly with an NCAA cut of 45.57 in prelims, while junior Gustav Olsson competed in the C final of the 200 freestyle after clocking an NCAA-qualifying 1:34.12 in the morning and improving to 1:34.09 in the evening session.
Freshman Lucy Porter recorded a personal-best 4:17.32 in the 400 IM prelims, placing 25th overall and narrowly missing the C final.
Through Thursday’s final event, with five days completed and two to go, the men’s team is in sixth place with 350.5 points and the women are in ninth with 223 points.
Florida State will compete again Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET for prelims in the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke with finals scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Florida State women’s tennis (2-5) opens ACC play, taking on No. 62 Louisville (6-1, 0-1 ACC) on Friday and No. 36 Notre Dame (11-1, 1-0) on Sunday, with both games on the road:
The Seminoles are looking to win their second consecutive conference opener after a 4-1 victory over Boston College in 2025.
Florida State is 13-2 all-time against Louisville, dating back to their first meeting in 1982. The Seminoles also hold an 8-6 advantage all-time against Notre Dame, winning three of the past five matchups.
Louisville and Notre Dame opened conference play against each other this season, with Notre Dame earning a 4-1 victory.
In last season’s matchups, Eva Shaw earned two ranked Court 1 victories, defeating No. 115 Alice Otis of Louisville 6-4, 7-5, and No. 64 Akari Matsuno of Notre Dame 7-6 (6), 6-4.
