Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer injured himself in the 3-0 win over Werder Bremen and had to come off for Jonas Urbig. While Neuer was initially expected to sit out for three weeks, the 39-year-old is back in training doing light training with the possibility of him playing against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker a real possibility.
Manuel Neuer returned on the pitch today and completed a 30-minute session. He did most of the exercises on the ground – and always under the close supervision of rehab
coach Simon Martinello. Neuer will gradually increase the workload in the coming days. Being fit in time for Dortmund is now a possibility.

Having Neuer back is great and all, but this is just classic Bayern rushing injuries which is the last thing the club needs what with injuries creeping back in (Alphonso Davies). Plus, Urbig can totally handle a high-stakes match like this.
