Now, both players are have been called up to the German national team by former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann. Needless to say, Kompany was ecstatic with the selections.
“This is good for Bayern and good for Germany. These are two young players who will play a major role in the national team in the future. It’s the first step for them,
they should enjoy it. There’s no pressure on them, and they will have that for some time to come. They need to enjoy it. Eventually, they will play an important role for the national team. I have high hopes for them,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Both Urbig and Karl figure to important figures for the future of the German national team. Getting them both in now — and potentially for the World Cup — could expedite their respective integrations in a very positive way.
