Cam Boozer kicked off his NBA career Wednesday night, as Memphis took on, and defeated, the Utah Jazz, 123-103.
Boozer didn’t shoot well, scoring just 7 points on 2-15 from the floor, including 0-6 from deep, but he also had 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
One of his baskets was on this play. Jaylen Wells made a wonderful steal and then saved it in. Boozer picked it up and took off for the other basket. Jaren Jackson, who is 6-10, 242 lbs., and at 27, a full eight years older, was between Boozer and the basket. Boozer,
who of course is a 19-year-old rookie, gave Jackson, uh, a little nudge to get him out of position, then went up and dunked on him.
But one of the best parts of the play was the Grizzlies play-by-play man who gleefully yelled out, “Holy Cow…he’s been…Camboozled!”
Every so often, you hear someone coin a term and think…why didn’t I come up with that?
Because that’s a great one.
