Texas A&M stayed undefeated this weekend with a convincing (if inconsistent) 31-9 win over Mississippi State on Saturday night. However, that didn’t lead to much movement in the rankings, with all of the teams above them either on bye or winning games themselves. A&M stays at No. 5 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and went from No. 6 to No. 5 (overtaking Oklahoma) in the AP Top 25 entering Week 7. It marks the first time that A&M has been in the top five of both polls since September 2021.
The biggest droppers in the poll were Texas and Penn State, who both fell from the top 10 to out of the rankings completely after losing on the road to unranked teams. The Aggies will now host the Florida Gators, who are fresh off that upset of Texas in The Swamp and are looking to get their season firmly back on track after a 1-3 star. QB DJ Lagway seemed to figure some things out this past Saturday, particularly with the emergence of WR Dallas Wilson, so it should be a stiff test for this rapidly improving Texas A&M defense.
The Aggies will wear their 1975 throwback uniforms this Saturday (we’ve seen the jersey but not the full uniform reveal). The game will kick of at 6 p.m. and air on ESPN.
