Juve eyeing Palhinha (Juve Talk)
Midfielder João Palhinha is headed back to Bayern Munich, at least temporarily. After Tottenham Hotspur wished him well, Sporting CP was supposed to be his next destination.
There is some doubt, though, about Sporting’s ability to work out a deal with Bayern Munich and Palhinha. However, Juventus might be willing to kick the tires on the 30-year-old:
Juventus is considering a move for João Palhinha after his loan spell at Tottenham from Bayern Munich ended this summer. The Portuguese midfielder is now
expected to assess his options as he looks to secure regular first-team football ahead of the new season.
Tottenham have signed two big-money midfielders, suggesting they do not intend to keep Palhinha beyond the end of his loan spell. As a result, the midfielder has become available for another move during the current transfer window.
This situation has opened the door for Palhinha to join another club, with Juventus interested in adding him to their squad. According to Tuttojuve, the Bianconeri believe the experienced midfielder could strengthen their options as they continue reshaping the team.
Bayern Munich also appears to have moved on from the player, having sent him out on loan during the previous campaign. The German club is now hoping he can find a team willing to sign him permanently, bringing his spell at Bayern to an end.
Juventus sees Palhinha as an ideal addition to a squad that requires significant changes during this transfer window. His experience and qualities in midfield have kept him among the club’s leading options as they continue evaluating potential signings.
A move to Juve seems unlikely, but Palhinha has no role in Bavaria and he has to go somewhere. At this point, Bayern Munich might be willing to take a significant hit just to get his salary off the books and get back a little money.
De Cat to Hoffenheim (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
After being linked to Bayern Munich, Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat is headed to Hoffenheim:
🚨💥 BREAKING | Nathan De Cat to TSG Hoffenheim – DONE DEAL ✔️
Full agreement reached with Anderlecht. Transfer fee: €17m plus add-ons + sell-on clause.
Long-term contract until 2031 agreed for 17 y/o gem. Medical scheduled very soon. The surprising exclusive news from last week is set to become official soon. @philipphinze24
Watching De Cat’s progression will be interesting. If Bayern Munich really wanted him, a deal was probably attainable. However, this could mean that Vincent Kompany is willing to ride into the season with Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Tom Bischof as his midfield three, with Konrad Laimer and David Santos Daiber as “break glass in case of emergency” options.
Fee could be as high as €7M for Asp Jensen (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
What we know at this point is that Jonathan Asp Jensen is headed to LaLiga side Deportivo de la Coruña, but the fee is up for debate…for now.
We had seen €6 million, but this report indicates it could be as high as €7 million:
🚨💥 Jonathan Asp Jensen to Deportivo de la Coruña – DONE DEAL ✔️

Olise appeal rejected (@iMiaSanMia)
France’s appeal to have Michael Olise’s yellow rescinded was…rejected:
France’s appeal to rescind Michael Olise’s yellow card against Paraguay has been rejected by FIFA. He would be suspended for a potential semifinal if he’s booked against Morocco tomorrow.
All that was missing from this was the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag.
Vlahović could stay at Juve (Tuttsport)
Dušan Vlahović could end up staying at Juventus after all:
Dusan is returning: he’s not tempted by Besiktas ‘s million-dollar offer , and he hasn’t found anyone high-level to accommodate his financial demands, so he’s laying the groundwork for a return to Turin. He wants to rekindle a relationship that seemed to have completely crumbled, even with his teammates. To this end, Vlahovic has also reached out to the team, keeping close contacts, those closest to him, warm . Now the matter is in the hands of Carnevali and Massara, both willing to reopen it. Both, after all, know full well how useful Dusan is to Spalletti and how Spalletti—even with the right salary conditions, he doesn’t intend to manage obvious imbalances in the day-to-day running of the locker room—is happy at the mere thought of being able to work with the Serbian again.
Müller thinks Bayern should grab Manzambi (Abendzeitung)
Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller thinks SC Freiburg youngster Johan Manzambi could be an ideal player for Bayern Munich:
Thomas Müller immediately recommended Manzambi, who can play “number six, eight, ten and also number nine”, to his former club. “For me, he’s someone, and now we can make a headline, that FC Bayern should also take a look at,” said the 2014 World Cup winner as an expert on MagentaTV.
Alas, David Ornstein of The Athletic, is reporting that Newcastle United is talking to SC Freiburg about Manzambi:
Newcastle United to open talks with Freiburg in coming days as work continues to sign Johan Manzambi. #NUFC now leading contender for 20yo midfielder & intensifying efforts to get deal done. #Switzerland international keen on opportunity @TheAthleticFC
