The Golden State Warriors pushed their winning streak to three games — a season best — on Sunday, when they beat the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 124-106. Suddenly the Dubs team that had fallen to .500
and gone just 1-6 on the road is a distant memory. Thankfully.
Here’s a look at how Dub Nation viewed the win, as seen by comments from the Golden State of Mind game thread.
First quarter: ‘Channeling his inner Aaron Gordon’
The first quarter was all about Moses Moody. He made a staggering seven threes in the quarter alone, setting his personal record for a single game, before the second quarter even began. It sparked the Warriors and led them to their highest-scoring quarter of the year, as they led 44-28.
Second quarter: ‘Red hot to ice cold’
The second quarter was the opposite, though. The Warriors simply could not buy a bucket, no matter where they looked. They found some rhythm late, though, and still led 61-49 at the break.
Third quarter: ‘A Steph stinker can be excused’
The third quarter was uneventful. The most notable point came halfway through, when Steph Curry — who finished with just two baskets — made his first field goal of the night. But the Dubs didn’t need him on this night. Behind some nice minutes from Jimmy Butler III and strong bench contributions from Brandin Podziemski and Al Horford, the Warriors took an 85-71 lead to the final frame.
Fourth quarter: ‘Podz mini heater’
The Warriors cruised to victory in the fourth quarter, with the bench handling much of the work while the starters got some much-needed rest.
