Travis Kelce joins Cleveland Guardians ownership group as a minority investor | Associated Press
The Cleveland Heights native bought a small share of David Blitzer’s 35% stake. Blitzer can become the controlling owner after the 2027 season or he can wait to exercise that option later.
“The opportunity came across my desk and I just couldn’t say no,” Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. “These guys (Blitzer and majority owner Paul Dolan) gave me the opportunity to show
my Cleveland love and plant my roots in Cleveland forever, no matter what. It’s an awesome feeling knowing that a childhood kid that grew up on the east side is now part owner of his favorite baseball team.”
Kelce lettered in football, basketball and baseball at Cleveland Heights High School. He was a Cleveland Plain Dealer baseball player of the week after going 14 for 22 with two home runs and 12 RBIs during one stretch in May 2008, his senior year. He also played on a collegiate summer team in 2010 while attending the University of Cincinnati.
Xavier Worthy still isn’t 100% healthy
Chiefs third-year WR Xavier Worthy was spotted in a clip from practice wearing the yellow jersey, which signals no-contact. Obviously, this is a non-contact practice anyway, but this is meant to signal that he’s hurt and not 100% healthy.
If you’ll recall, Worthy suffered a labrum injury in Week 1 of last season after colliding with Travis Kelce on a routine play in Brazil. He played the entire 2025 NFL season with the injury before having surgery to repair it in January. That’s in addition to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 5.
The pro football player wed pro volleyball player Cara Cresse on Saturday, May 23. The couple, both 23, announced their marriage in a joint post on Instagram on Monday, May 25.
“Surprise! We got married!” Cresse wrote in the caption alongside nine wedding photos. “We had our dear families alongside us for the sweetest ceremony and celebration. Our new favorite day!”
She then revealed that they plan to have a larger wedding next year: “Can’t wait to celebrate with even more of our loved ones next May!”
“Congratulations!! ❤️,” the official Kansas City Chiefs account commented. Cresse’s volleyball team, Indy Ignite, added, “Gorgeous!! Congratulations!!!!! 🔥.”
The Chiefs 2026 schedule is here. Way-too-early record prediction, picks | USA Today
Kansas City Chiefs record prediction 2026
Record prediction: 9-8
Kansas City has something to prove in 2026 after not only losing its streak of AFC West titles but failing to miss the playoffs entirely in 2025.
The Chiefs started their offseason with a bang by signing reigning Super Bowl MVP and running back Kenneth Walker. The move proved the team’s commitment to improving the run game after a rough year for the rushing offense. That move, plus the other ones Kansas City made in free agency and the draft to improve its defense, gives the Chiefs an improved outlook in 2026.
Like the other teams in their division, they face an uphill battle to improve their record, given the difficulty of the AFC West and NFC West opponents on their schedule. Playing both the Rams and Seahawks on the road is an especially tough draw for the Chiefs coming off of their down year.

Rank 8: Kansas City Chiefs — +1500
I’m not ready to declare the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes Chiefs dead yet, even after witnessing their very ugly unraveling last season.
The most pressing question is Mahomes’ health, but it’s not the only concern. I don’t know when he will be back to playing his usual brand of football, even if the target for his return from an ACL tear is Week 1. However, the possibility of him returning to something close to elite form — and DC Steve Spagnuolo working his magic on the other side of the ball — carries enough heft for me to include Kansas City on the list.
The Chiefs have to be better everywhere else on offense, too, and the only marquee addition they made on that side of the ball was the signing of Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III. He filled a major need, but it’s going to take Reid bringing along some young receivers and offensive linemen — primarily former first-round picks Xavier Worthy and Josh Simmons — for the offense to really pop.
On defense, Spagnuolo has to somehow generate more pass-rush juice to help a remodeled secondary that will be leaning heavily on rookie CB Mansoor Delane.
It feels like asking a lot of the Chiefs to get back to playing title-caliber football, but I do believe there is value in knowing what it takes to win in the NFL, and this franchise is only a year removed from playing in three consecutive Super Bowls. We’ll get a great look at how they measure up to the Seahawks when the teams meet on a Sunday night in Seattle in Week 7.

Jacobs, 28, was arrested Tuesday by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in connection with a domestic disturbance at his Hobart home around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Online court records show Jacobs was booked at the Brown County Jail on six recommended charges, which include a pair of felonies and four misdemeanors:
Two counts of strangulation and suffocation (F)
Battery – domestic abuse enhancer (M)
Criminal damage to property – domestic abuse enhancer (M)
Disorderly conduct – domestic abuse enhancer (M)
Intimidation of a victim/dissuade complaints (M)
Jacobs was expected to make an initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon, but as of around 12:30 p.m., he was no longer listed on the jail roster. Just before 2 p.m., FOX 11’s cameras caught vehicles pulling in and out of Jacobs’ driveway, with unidentified men putting suitcases into a vehicle.
Von Miller plans to play in ’26, has lobbied Broncos for return | ESPN
Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller said Wednesday that he is “for sure” playing for somebody in the 2026 season and that he has already lobbied Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton for his former team to sign him.
Miller, 37, is an unsigned, unrestricted free agent after a nine-sack season for the Washington Commanders in 2025. Miller spent 11 seasons with the Broncos — he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams just before the trade deadline in 2021 — and had 110.5 of his 138.5 career sacks with the team.
He was MVP of Super Bowl 50, the franchise’s third, and most recent, Super Bowl win. Asked during an appearance in suburban Denver on Wednesday for his Von’s Vision foundation whether he had spoken to Payton during a flag football event in April in Los Angeles about a possible return to the Broncos, Miller said:
“I lobbied, I do lobby, I lobbied publicly, privately, so I lobbied,” Miller said. “I think there’s no question the type of environment I bring to a locker room, I think there’s no question to the type of environment I bring to a team.
“I don’t want to pat myself on the back, but at 37 years old, I can still roll out the bed and still rush the quarterback. I’m still a great guy in the locker room, I bring great energy, I make sure everybody is ready to go.”

What we might learn on Day 3 of the Chiefs’ OTA practices
Although reporters will be present, they will operate under significant team restrictions. The Chiefs generally prohibit media from commenting on depth chart issues or player formations during offseason practices, which are closed to the public.
So, if you expect confirmation on the team’s starting right tackle or to know what packages rookies are being worked into, prepare to be disappointed. Most information will come from social media updates the Chiefs will tease through minicamp.
Still, there are some things we should know more about. Head coach Andy Reid and select players are also expected to speak to the media on Thursday.
Patrick Mahomes’ status
Kansas City announced to the world yesterday that Mahomes was back on the field just months after suffering multiple torn ligaments in his left knee. We know little of the context of his return, however.
The face of the league coming back from injury is a major story, and there may very well be national media present on Thursday. We should have more insight on whether Mahomes is running the offense in non-contact practices or working his way back on the side.
