The Wisconsin Badgers are back in the Elite 8, facing the No. 1 Texas Longhorns on Sunday with a trip to Kansas City on the line.
The Badgers, ranked as the No. 3 seed in the Texas regional, beat the No. 2 Stanford Cardinal 3-1 on Friday in a great performance. Mimi Colyer had 27 kills, Charlie Fuerbringer had 61 assists, and the Badgers hit a stellar .420 to win the thriller and advance to face the top-seeded Longhorns.
Wisconsin kicked off the postseason with sweeps over Eastern Illinois and UNC
at the Field House last week, setting itself up to face the top two seeds in its region.
Now, they face a Texas team that swept them earlier this season 29-27, 25-20, 25-14. They had 26 attack errors in that loss, which can’t happen again on Sunday.
The Longhorns beat Florida A&M, Penn State, and Indiana to reach the regional final. They’ve gone 26-3 so far this season with losses to only No. 2 Kentucky (2x) and No. 9 Texas A&M.
