UFC 329’s opening fight between flyweights Ode Osbourne and Cody Durden is no longer happening.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to complete on July 11th,” Osbourne wrote on Instagram. “This breaks my heart because it’s such a big stage, and my team and I have put in a lot of hard work over the past eight weeks. I’m going to rest and be back for the next one. Thanks, everyone, for rockin’ with me.”
Osbourne did not disclose a reason for his withdrawal.
“My opponent Ode Osbourne has officially went running
and pulled out of our fight for July 11th at UFC 329,” Durden wrote on X. “Who wants to fight me in 19 days?”
No word yet on whether or not matchmakers will keep “Custom Made” in the July 11th lineup in Las Vegas, topped by the welterweight return of former two-division champion Conor McGregor and ex-featherweight kingpin Max Holloway.
The recent lineup shuffle also sent heavyweight prospect and Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson to the preliminary card, where the one-time NFL hopeful — who also washed out of the WWE developmental program — battles Elisha Ellison, also known as the “Snack Panther.”
