Premier League champions Arsenal are seriously considering a move for Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr should his contract talks with the Spanish club fail to produce an agreement. Arsenal are even ready to break their salary structure for Vinicius, reported Mario Cortegana, James McNicholas and David Ornstein of The Athletic on Saturday.
As per the report, Real Madrid have offered Vinicius an annual salary of €20 million, but Arsenal are prepared to break from their usual wage structure to accommodate
a player of his calibre. A substantial signing-on fee and a favourable image-rights agreement could further strengthen the financial package.
Arsenal Sporting director Andrea Berta has reportedly held discussions with Vinicius Jr’s representatives. Senior figures at Arsenal have also made it clear to his camp that he would become the centrepiece of an ambitious project under Mikel Arteta, joining a team that won last season’s Premier League and narrowly lost the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
