It wasn’t event-ized like the NFL ones that happened last weekend, but it seems WWE is doing its own version of “cut day” at its Performance Center in Orlando today (Fri., Sept. 4). The first sign was when Jasper Troy posted this on social media:

Speculation was that Troy had been released, as NXT talents usually have a 30-day non-compete period to close out their contracts. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson soon confirmed the 28-year-old big man had been let go.
Troy’s been with WWE since
2022, and made his in-ring debut the following year. He appeared on Level Up and LFG before starting on NXT television. His last match on the Tuesday night show was back in June, and his last taped match was a Main Event loss to Akira Tozawa.
WWE sources told Insider that Troy was one of multiple developmental talents released today, but that there were “no cuts expected for the main roster talents”.
