As most men’s club competitions took a break for an international window, only a few FC Bayern loanees had a chance to represent their national teams. Nübel earned his third cap for Germany’s senior team while Ibrahimović featured for Germany U-21 in their U-21 EURO Qualifiers. Kusi-Asare was also called into U-21 Qualifiers while Peretz featured in Israel’s single friendly. The Regionalligas and our lone loanee from the Frauen had club matches this week. FC Bayern Munich
There are 11 players from on loan from the first team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are three players from the first team on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimović, and Armando Sieb.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel was on the bench for Germany’s 4-3 friendly win against Switzerland but started and played the full 90 minutes on Monday against Ghana in Stuttgart. In his third cap for the senior team, he only faced one shot, which was on goal and reached the back of the net to equalize for Ghana in the 70th minute. His club teammate, Denis Undav, saved him in the 88th minute with a late winner, assisted by former Bayern man, Leroy Sané. Germany held on for a 2-1 win.
Stuttgart will host Dortmund on Saturday.
Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim
Ibrahimović was on the bench for Germany U-21’s 3-0 win in the U-21 EURO qualifiers.
He was also was on the bench for the U-21s’ trip to Greece. He came into the match in the 74th minute, just moments after Germany went up 2-0. He had one shot — on goal — but could not create a chance for his teammates to shoot. He also helped Germany finish off the shutout with four recoveries.
Heidenheim will travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.
England – Premier League
There are two players on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham
Kusi-Asare was called into Sweden’s U-21 EURO Qualifiers. He started and played 90 minutes against Montenegro U-21 in Sweden on Friday. This match ended 2-2. He was on the bench for the next match against Italy U-21. He entered the match in the 87th with Sweden down 4-0. He did not have time to influence the match and they fell by that score line.
Kusi-Asare has been playing with Fulham’s U-21s, apparently. They will next play Chelsea U-21 on April 10. The first team will play Liverpool on April 11.
England – Championship
Daniel Peretz is the only player on loan to England’s Championship.
Daniel Peretz – Southampton
Peretz started for Israel in Georgia for a friendly on Thursday. He played only the first half, where he allowed one goal. Israel was down 1-0 at halftime. The match ended in a 2-2 draw. They did not play a second friendly during this window.
Southampton host Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday.
FC Bayern Munich II
There are 15 players on loan from the second team.
Germany – Regionalliga
There are two players on loan in the Regionalliga Südwest: Benedikt Wimmer and David Emmanuel and three players on loan to the Regionalliga Bayern: Gibson Adu, Richard Meier, and Jason Eckl.
Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen
Wimmer started and played the full 90 minutes for Sandhausen on the road against Kickers Offenbach. He and the defense did fairly well outside of a small window to start the second half where they went down 2-0. They did not allow another goal, but his teammates could not find a goal either. Sandhausen fell 2-0 on the road.
Sandhausen will host SG Sonnenhof Großaspach on Saturday.
David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel
Emmanuel was not in the matchday squad for Kassel’s 1-1 home draw against SGV Freiburg.
Kassel will travel to face Bahlinger SC on Saturday.
Gibson Adu – Unterhaching
Adu was not in the matchday squad for Unterhaching’s road match.
Richard Meier – Unterhaching
Meier started for Unterhaching against SpVgg Ansbach and played 62 minutes. He was unable to help his teammates find a goal while he was on the pitch. He was subbed out with the match level at 0-0. The home team found a late goal and Unterhaching fell 1-0 on the road.
Jason Eckl – Unterhaching
Eckl was not in the matchday squad for Unterhaching’s 1-0 loss.
Unterhaching will host TSV Buchbach on Thursday.
FC Bayern Munich Frauen
There is one player on loan from the women’s team.
Brazil – Brasileirão Feminino
Ana Guzmán is the only player on loan to Brazil’s Brasileirão Feminino.
Ana Guzmán – SE Palmerias
Guzmán started on the bench as Palmerias was away to Sau Paulo. She was subbed into the match in the 61st minute with her team down 1-0. She had two interceptions, one clearance, and six recoveries in her time on the pitch. Unfortunately this was not enough to keep the hosts off the board anymore. They allowed two more goals and fell 3-0. This was the first time they have dropped points.
Guzmán was on the bench for Palmerias’ 1-1 home draw — another match with dropped points already — but did not make it into the match.
Palmerias will travel to face Fluminense on Saturday.
