The Buffalo Bills are set to do battle with the New York Jets this afternoon in an important early-season divisional contest. For the Bills, a 2-0 record is at stake, plus a 2-0 record in conference play and a 1-0 record in divisional play. For the Jets, they’re looking to avoid starting 0-2 for the first time since the 2021 season.
Both teams looked good on offense last week, as the Bills outscored everyone by putting up 41 points in a win over the Baltimore Ravens, and the Jets scored 32 points in a loss
to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams looked like they needed to improve tremendously on defense, as the Jets allowed 34 points and the Bills allowed 40. Each team’s stop unit will be out to prove that Week One was just a fluke occurrence, while each team’s offense is going to spend the afternoon trying to prove that their strong opening salvo was merely a harbinger of the good things to come.
Buffalo is down a big defensive starter in Ed Oliver this week, while the Jets are missing their primary return man, a big secondary receiving option, and a big part of their defensive line rotation. Each team has some issues they want to clean up, and each team needs a win badly to put themselves on pace to accomplish their main goals in the 2025 NFL season.
