It’s Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! The 2026 season has come to a close, with Gary Sánchez and the Milwaukee Brewers defeating the Tampa Bay Rays to secure the third straight World Series trophy for the National League (and fifth of the decade). And now, for all 30 teams, the cold winter of the offseason is upon us — one that will be longer than normal due to the impending lockout. The offseason doesn’t mean that life stops, however,
and this week, we have a jam-packed social media roundup. And so, without further ado, let’s get started!
Happy Halloween!
Being the last day of October, yesterday was, of course, Halloween. Naturally, the Yankees family got in on the festivities.
None of this, though, beats how Spencer Jones spent his Halloweekend: getting engaged at the top of the Empire State Building.
Looking Back
As has been the case over the last few weeks, several players — and their families — took to social media to reflect on the past season…and, in the case of former Yankee Shane Greene, to reflect on his career.
On the Road Again
Normally, I don’t like posting things that are, in truth, embedded ads, but I figured this one might be important to know. Yankees starter Will Warren is heading south for the winter, and while he didn’t explicitly say where he’s going to spend the next few months, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bunch of players getting apartments/homes near each other for the winter; that way, if spring training doesn’t start on time, they will be near others that they can work out/train with.
Family Time
The Sabathia clan descended on the University of Michigan for Parents’ Weekend.
Between that and following the Brewers’ quest to snap their long title drought, it’s been a busy month for our old pal CC. Although he only spent half a (highly memorable!) season in Milwaukee, he’s always felt a strong connection with the city—especially the late Bob Uecker—and was overjoyed to see them win it all. Sabathia was at several games of the Brew Crew’s championship run.
Meanwhile, the Cole family had dinner, courtesy of Chef Gerrit.
Clarke Schmidt headed out into the woods with his family, where he caught a fish!
The Pride of Somerset
The Somerset Patriots, as always, take great pride in the big league performance of their former players; this week, they celebrated the Cy Young performance of a certain Cam Schlittler.
Award Season
Yankee pitcher David Cone was named the recipient of the 2026 Curt Flood Award for his “longtime devotion to the MLBPA.” Congratulations, Coney!
