Whether the Cleveland Browns are headed in the right direction or not is up to a lot of fan discussion. What is more certain is that whether or not GM Andrew Berry is active at the NFL trade deadline could depend on how the next couple of weeks go in the 2026 NFL season.
The Browns are a surprising 3-2, but are coming off a loss in Week 5 to the lowly New York Jets . Cleveland remains just barely outside of the AFC Playoff picture after five games, but the 2027 NFL draft is also a part of the focus
as well.
As the trade deadline looms in a month, we’ve already covered the possibility of Berry looking to trade away WR Jerry Jeudy and the chance of adding DE Khalil Mack or DE Josh Sweat. Interestingly, those are the three names that Jordan Schultz has reported are being actively discussed in NFL circles as trade candidates:
It is possible that the Browns could trade away Jeudy, as Schultz mentions, for a third- or fourth-round pick, then turn around and trade a similar draft asset for Mack or Sweat.
For now, NFL trade rumors are just starting to swirl, but it seems like Cleveland could be a part of them in a variety of ways.
When do you start paying attention to NFL trade rumors? Which of the three names listed above do you think is most likely to get moved before or at the deadline?
