Santiago Luna proved without a doubt that he’s ready for the big leagues earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 13, 2025) LIVE on ESPN+ from inside Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Tex., turning in a debut first-round knockout finish over bantamweight brawler Quang Le.
At just 21 years of age, this was a huge step up for Luna. Not only is Le the best fighter he’s ever competed against, but being part of Noche UFC 3’s main card certainly added some unneeded pressure. Still, Luna ultimately rose to the occasion,
overcame some early adversity, and turned in one of the most memorable debut performances of 2025.
The first 10 seconds of the fight was a reality check for the young Luna as Le blasted him with a clean shot that briefly wobbled him. Luna quickly regrouped, though, and was more than game to exchange in a war of attrition. Both bantamweights swung heavy leather without much caution at all, but it was Luna who landed the most significant shot.
Halfway through the first round, Luna connected with a nice left hook counter during a firefight along the fence. Le got clipped and fell to the canvas. The Vietnamese fighter was able to make it back to his feet, but Luna met him with more offense and another blistering left hand that sat Le down once more. This time around, Luna closed in to land a fight-ending punch to cap off a massive Octagon debut.
