Clay Holmes made his first appearance on a professional mound since breaking his leg, and it was just fine for a first outing. The Syracuse bullpen picked him up after he gave up a couple of runs in his brief start, as Tobias Myers and three other relievers combined to blank the RailRiders the rest of the way. Unfortunately, Syracuse’s bats were blanked for the entirety of the game.

It’s been a bit of an uneven season for him, but it’s nice to see him have a good outing with his season high in strikeouts.
