Craig Skinner and the Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball team had another big week, which means it was time for another top-10 matchup. Hosting the No. 7 Texas Longhorns Sunday in Lexington, the No. 3 Wildcats rolled past the other perennial SEC power with a clean 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-20, 25-21).
With Morgan Gaerte unavailable due to injury, the Cats needed help on the outside alongside Brooklyn DeLeye. They got just that from Asia Thigpen, who totaled 15 kills and a .303 hit percentage.
The Cats looked
dominant once again and kicked off SEC play, showing they are once again the best team in the conference. They’re also proving they should be considered a real threat to reach the National Championship game this winter, especially if they keep racking up top-10 wins.
The Cats will return to action on Friday as they take on the Auburn Tigers.
