Two 0-2 teams — each of them coming off three-point losses — try to turn their seasons around in the Week 3 edition of “Sunday Night Football” from New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, as the Kansas City Chiefs face the New York Giants. Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m. Arrowhead Time.
In Week 2, the Philadelphia Eagles handed Kansas City a 20-17 home loss — while the Dallas Cowboys edged New York 40-37
in overtime.For both teams, there is a long-term angle. In seven matchups dating back to 1978, Kansas City
has never defeated New York at home. The most recent loss was an ugly 12-9 matchup in 2017.
“I hope that changes — like [on] Sunday,” defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo told reporters this week.
Meanwhile, the Giants have begun nine of the previous 12 seasons 0-2. They are also desperate for a win.
