When he first entered the league, his play was inconsistent, marked by frequent drops and missed assignments. There were numerous stories in the media about how he did not get along with head coach Kevin Stefanski, and trade rumors were constant around 2020 and 2021. It came as a surprise to many when he signed a new contract with the Browns.
Then something changed, and his connection with the fans did along with it.
From there, his career in Cleveland really took off. He grew into one of the most reliable and stable offensive weapons and was even named a Pro Bowler for the 2023 season. He became extremely outspoken about his love for the city and became a fan favorite. The story of Njoku as a Brown is a lesson in patience. Not every player comes into this league with their full potential. Investing in players and allowing them the space to grow often leads to long-term success.
