The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing veteran wide receiver Brandon Johnson to their practice squad, per Mike DeFabo of The Athletic.
Johnson appeared in three games for the Steelers in 2024, catching one pass on 19 offensive snaps. He has 26 catches and five touchdowns in his career.
The addition of Johnson comes after the NFL upheld its two-game suspension on wide receiver DK Metcalf. Metcalf got into an altercation with a fan during the Steelers’ win over the Detroit Lions in Week 16 in which he grabbed the fan and swatted at his face. Johnson now provides depth for the Steelers should they need it over the next two games.
The Steelers can clinch the AFC North ahead of their Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns if the Green Bay Packers defeat the Baltimore Ravens. If the Ravens win, the Steelers clinch the division with a win.
