All Sports:
FSU Soccer’s late season surge, after overcoming a lackluster October which saw two losses and a tie to an underwhelming Cal team, has put them in the position to win its third national championship in the last
five years.
They’ll take on TCU tonight at 6 p.m. on ESPNU:
Men’s Hoops will be on the road tomorrow against 8th-ranked Houston; tip-off is at 8 p.m.:
Women’s Hoops will host 18th-ranked Notre Dame on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Tuck.
Women’s Tennis’ spring schedule has been released:
Recruiting:
Barring any major surprises, FSU’s 2026 recruiting class is likely completely finished with all 32 kids signed and no signing day flips or decommitments; a first for the Mike Norvell era. That is a positive thing to note but this 2026 class feels like much of the same. My favorite prospect in the class and one I consider ready to contribute day one is Jasen Lopez.
He’s also a dual-sport kid:
Aside from Jay Timmons you could argue that FSU’s misses didn’t hurt that much but you could also argue that it proves they’re not recruiting where they’re supposed to recruit.
Carrington, who played his senior season in California, was an interesting addition to the class when he joined in mid-June. A versatile lineman with an accomplished wrestling background, he and FSU had a falling out over NIL and he decommitted in August. Oklahoma gave him what he sought and he signed with the Sooners. Again I state that FSU should not be recruiting in the West Coast, period.
Football:
Mike Norvell promised clarity soon when it comes to changes in FSU’s front office operation but with the opening of the transfer portal less than one month away; those changes will need to be enacted rapidly to have any effect on the transfer portal window.
Congratulations to this week’s Academic All-Stars:
Darrell Jackson Jr. says goodbye for now to Florida State:
Redshirt freshman linebacker Jayden Parrish plans to enter the transfer portal; he only saw action against East Texas A&M this fall.
