UFC Perth went down last night (Sat., Sept. 27, 2025) from inside RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, which featured a headlining bout that saw Carlos Ulberg stop Dominick Reyes via first-round knockout (see it again here). In the co-headlining act, Jimmy Crute submitted Ivan Erslan via rear-naked choke (highlights).

Biggest Winner: Carlos Ulberg
The Light Heavyweight division has a new title contender after Ulberg starched Reyes in the opening round of their bout, upping his win streak to nine in a row inside the Octagon.
Ulberg was in control from the jump by tagging Reyes at will, tenderizing him for the kill-shot which came in devastating fashion with 30 seconds left in the fight. With the win, Ulberg likely earned himself a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada next weekend to get a front row seat to the 205-pound title fight between division king, Magomed Ankalaev, taking on former champion, Alex Pereira, in a highly-anticipated rematch at UFC 320.

Runner Up: Neil Magny
Right when it seemed as if Magny was about to go out in the closing seconds of round two, leaving Jake Matthews a bit confused as to why he didn’t win, the longtime veteran turned things around in the third round and pulled off a comeback victory with a submission of his own. For the first two rounds, Magny found himself having to defend one submission attempt after another, likely going into the third down two rounds. But his experience and heart ultimately prevailed because he managed to trap Matthews in a brabo choke to force the tap. That is now two straight wins for the longtime veteran, his first back-to-back win streak since 2022. It’s a tough blow for Matthews, though, because it sure looked as if the referee called the fight in his favor at the end of round two. That said, we have to give credit to Magny for rallying and pulling off the come-from-behind win.

Biggest Loser: Dominick Reyes
Reyes’ resurgence came to a quick and violent end in Australia thanks to Ulberg’s crisp striking and dominant first-round performance. I’m not trying to kick the longtime veteran while he’s down and out, but it’s hard to overlook the performance he had, which was non-existent as he landed only five strikes before he was sent packing. Ulberg made it look like a walk in the park as he barely broke a sweat, leaving many to wonder why Reyes didn’t bother showing up. Now, the former title contender will have to start from scratch once again, and one has to wonder if he has it in him to get another winning streak going.
