No. 1 Indiana football is set to play in the Rose Bowl for a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The Hoosiers earned the berth with a 13-10 win over No. 2 Ohio State in the Big Ten Football Championship game. Fernando Mendoza, who’d go on to win the 2025 Heisman Trophy, gave a now-iconic postgame interview following the win:
“The Hoosiers are flippin’ champs.”
Mendoza went 15/23 through the air for 222 yards,
a touchdown and a single interception in the win.
