Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has named Ronald Araujo in his squad for the 2026 Spanish Super Cup ahead of a semi-final tie with Athletic Club.
Araujo will jet out with the rest of the squad but it’s still
not known when he will make his return to first-team action. Flick said before Saturday’s win over Espanyol that “it depends on him. He’s not 100% physically, but he’s doing well.”
The defender is part of a travelling squad that also includes exciting youngsters Jofre Torrents, Dro Fernandez and Tommy Marques. Andreas Christensen and Gavi miss out as they continue to recover from injury.
Barcelona’s first game is against Athletic Club on Wednesday night. The team will fly out later today and train in Jeddah on Tuesday before taking on Ernesto Valverde’s side.
Flick’s side are expected to debut their new fourth kit at the Super Cup which was released at the end of last year and features a design based on the team’s famous Ronaldinho-inspired Clasico win from 2005.
