Indiana football has opened up as a 4.5-point favorite over visiting Illinois next weekend at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 55.5, with the under being slightly favored at -115.
The Hoosiers are coming off of a dominant 73-0 win over in-state FCS opponent Indiana State. Starting quarterback Fernando Mendoza went 19/20 through the air with five passing touchdowns, adding one on the ground for good measure.
Indiana rushed for 301 yards,
making it the third consecutive game in which the Hoosiers have totaled 300 or more yards on the ground. Khobie Martin, a redshirt freshman, led the way with 109 yards and two scores on 11 carries. Lee Beebe Jr. went down with an injury and his status is currently unknown.
The Fighting Illini are coming off of a shutout win of their own, a 38-0 trouncing of Western Michigan. Luke Altmeyer went 17/26 with two passing touchdowns and one on the ground. Illinois rushed for 162 yards, led by Kaden Feagin with 100 and one score on 20 carries.
Indiana is set to face Illinois at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday.
