Good morning, Purple Row!
The MLB offseason is all about trade rumors in a typical year, but with a looming lockout and an anticipated busy November, chatter is picking up.
And the Colorado Rockie getting attention is catcher Hunter Goodman. (Hey, 41 home runs and three years of team control have that effect.) Remember all that speculation we did prior to the trade deadline? Let’s get ready to do it all again.
There were questions as to whether the Rockies should have made that move last summer, but
given that Goodman’s trade value has only increased, Paul DePodesta’s decision to wait seems like a savvy move. But get ready for the speculation to increase.
November should be a busy (and interesting) month.
In today’s Rockpile, look for an interview I conducted with Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer 10 days ago.
In the meantime, here’s what’s happening today.

(There’s no way they’ll do that.)
- Where could Jazz Chisholm Jr. land in free agency? | MLB.com — No, the Rockies aren’t on the list, but I always enjoy free-agent speculation. Mark Feinsand lays out some possibilities.
This week on the internet
TJ Rumfield was selected for the second team, which is good!
Musical interlude
And since I alluded to Fleetwood Mac in the headline, I thought I’d follow through with an absolute banger that has stood the test of time.
